Since 1958 this Murray Hill restaurant has been a destination spot for an older crowd who appreciates its many charms. The romantic dining room evokes a country village, with a flowing fountain, moonlit skylights and wine bottles stacked everywhere. The amazing wine cellar holds 30,000 bottles of 350 varieties from around the world. Rich Italian dishes include baked stuffed chicken, veal stuffed with prosciutto and mozzarella in a "nightgown" of baked eggplant, and shrimp flavored with basil and smoked salmon.
Nicola Paone offers guests Italian dishes. Expect the average entrée to cost between $12 and $20, and dress formal -- jacket is required.
